PartnerCommunity has developed a Remedy Adapter for Microsoft BizTalk
Server 2000/2002 that drastically reduces the time and cost for
integrating applications based on BMC's Remedy Action Request System
(ARS) platform with BizTalk, and other applications.
Adapter Description:
- Enables a two-way data replication mechanism between a Remedy
system and external systems in real-time and/or batch mode.
- Supports any custom Remedy ARS form based application, such
as Remedy Help Desk, Customer Support, CRM, and other packaged
applications.
- Provides an intuitive configuration interface to define mapping
and replication rules between ARS forms and the external systems.
- Does not require changes to the existing forms and fields of
the application or development of custom filters.
- Minimal impact to application performance.
Adapter Capabilities:
- Automatic detection of updates, deletions, or insertions to
Remedy forms.
- Packages these data changes into one or more XML documents and
submits them to the external systems via a variety of transports.
- Inserts new records, map and apply changes, received from the
external systems via a variety of transports, to a Remedy application.
- Built-in mechanism resolves replication conflicts intelligently.
- Access Remedy Managed database strictly through Remedy Server
API.
Supported Transports:
- BizTalk AIC component
- MSMQ
- File sharing
- HTTP(S)
How It Works:
- The adapter uses database triggers to capture the changes and
uses Remedy Server API to extract required fields from Remedy
forms and forwards them to an external system.
- The adapter uses the Remedy Server API to apply changes received
from the external system to the local Remedy database.
- The adapter applies an intelligent record conflict resolution
algorithm.
- The adapter implements the IBTSAppIntegration interface, therefore,
it can be easily set as the destination of a BizTalk Server channel
or Orchestration Workflow.
Platforms Supported:
The adapter runs on Windows2000 and it can support Remedy
ARS v4.5.1 or v5.0 running on Windows2000, Sun Solaris, and HPUX,
using any of the following RDBMS: MSSQL 2000, Oracle 8, and 8i.
